THE PLAYER (needs).
Anytime I was based abroad somewhere in the World, I always had some golf lesson in the hope to find something new that could teach me new ways in notions or methods that could make me a better golfer.
Always, invariably, any coach adjusted my swing, nothing else, nothing more. Also a little enquiry among golf Coaches about the way to hit the ball obtained descriptions just in short words, it is not better the instruction on the many golf books where there is not much about the hitting action on the ball.
So I decided to take on the task myself; I studied the shot and subdivided it in 4 phases that I describe in my THE SHOT© where I explain also other aspects, like backspin. Since I did it and instead to think about my swing, I think of the exact point where I have to hit the ball, my shots significantly increased their consistency.
Then I wanted to understand why a driver is so difficult to play in the beginning and, in my second youth, it has become so powerless compared to my other clubs in the bag. This has resulted in a very interesting THE BAG© that made me aware of the reasons why a golf club should take place inside the bag only when the necessity arises and it must be taken out once the energies are no more enough to swing it at the required speed. The reduction of the number of clubs in a golf bag because of the passing of time shall correspond to a better quality of the golfing ability because the remaining clubs will 'magically' begin to increase their performance; the real reason is that a non performing club will reduce player's confidence in his game because of the many failures of that 'unusable' club.
Next argument is just about this contingency: A DRIVER'S STORY ©.
From clubs to balls the step is automatic and in my THE BALLS©, I explain why we Golfers are the major beneficiaries of the great variety of golf balls in the market and the reasons why to play a ball's type instead of another.
The coming on stage of Bryson de Chambeau with his 'one length' golf clubs arose so much my curiosity that I put my attention on the matter, discovering the 'one length' club's superiority. Together with a very good club-maker we adapted an old progressive length club set of mine to a one length clubs set; I play them since months and an additional increase in my shot confidence had been welcomed by me. The reason? An arithmetical proportion: 13 to 1. With a progressive length club set I need to learn and manage 13 different swing's planes, 13 different ball's longitudinal positions of the ball (left to right), 13 different cross position of the ball (near or away from me), 13 different shaft angles while with one length clubs is ONE OF EVERYTHING, so they are 54 parameters with progressive clubs against FOUR with one length clubs. Is it enough? All this you may find in my BRYSON IS RIGHT©.
THE COURSE (needs).
An ENLARGED HOLE© from actual 105 millimetres to 120 mm; discover the reasons why.
About the pace of play, I took some steps to control it since 2007 with a clocks system where a clock on each hole's tee was displaying the starting time of his first hole to each flight who was keeping the correct pace of play, otherwise it displayed how many minutes the flight was ahead or behind the scheduled time. The system had been in use for over 5 years at my former Golf Club.
